Louisiana Chocolate Sheet Cake

Louisiana Chocolate Sheet Cake
(sometimes called Mississippi Mud Cake)

Step 1:
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
2 cups plain flour
     Mix together and set aside.

Step 2:
1 cup water
4 T cocoa powder
2 sticks margarine (or butter)
Mix together in a pot and bring to a boil.

Step 3:
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 T white vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
Mix together in order given and add (along with the boiled mixure) to the dry ingredients.  Mix well by hand and pour into a greased cookie sheet pan.
Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

Step 4:
1 stick margarine (or butter)
4 T cocoa powder
6 T milk

Bring to a boil and add:

1 lb. (1 box) powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 cup chopped pecans

(optional - once you take the cake out of the oven, sprinkle it with small marshmallows before pouring the hot icing over it.  I don't add the marshmallows and it's just as good.)
