Thanksgiving and the Larpenter Reunion - Day 1
Well, it happened again. We were able to surprise Mom and Dad again. Carole called me up two weeks before Thanksgiving and wanted to know when we were going to Louisiana for Thanksgiving. I told her that Eddie only had Wednesday thru Friday off and that we'd not be able to go to Mom and Dad's but would meet them in South Louisiana for the Family Reunion. She was flying to Mom and Dad's on Monday and couldn't stand the idea of me not being there too so she asked if Anna, Rachel, and I could fly on Monday if she made the arrangements. After checking with Eddie and arranging my Monday and Tuesday Piano students, we started making plans!
Monday, November 21, our good friend Piperlynn drove the girls and me to the Birmingham Airport and we caught a plane for Houston. Our plane arrived before Carole's so we were able to go to the terminal she was arriving at and meet her. From there we all boarded the same flight to Alexandria and were able to sit together. That was so much fun!!
Mom and Dad were in Alexandria to meet Carole. They had no idea that we were coming too. We hid while Carole got her luggage and then we came out to where they were standing. Mom's mouth about hit the floor. She and Dad just stood there in shock! They were wondering why Carole was renting a car! Those are memories that we will never forget. I hope that my girls will always remember the fall when we "got away with" Mom and Dad, TWICE! It's all because of a very big hearted and generous sister, Aunt Carole! Well, we got our luggage and loaded up in TWO cars and drove to Mom and Dad's. Dad let me drive his new car and the girls and Mom rode with Aunt Carole.
When we got Mom and Dad's, my cousin, Kenny Faulk was there from Pryor, Oklahoma. He was on his way to South Louisiana on his motorcycle and stopped to spend the night. It was wonderful to have him there and we had the best time visiting. Kenny has let God have control of his life and it's amazing how God is using him. He is also a very Loyal LSU fan and couldn't resist the temptation to get into "discussions" with Anna about Auburn! It was fun.
That was Day 1!
